I'm from New Jersey, but I happen to know someone that is from Chico, Ca. that will ship to me. I really want beers from Russian River Brewing, but I don't know what to ask for. Also, is there anything from anywhere else I should ask for them to look for. He happens to be about a mile or so from Sierra Nevada Brewery, if that helps.

If you like sours and IPA's you are in for a treat. Doesn't matter which one. They're all excellent.

Looking at there current bottle list. I would go for Pliny and Blind Pig, then get a few Temptations. However, as the person above me mentioned. They are all good!

Yeah, I heard they're all good. I've been looking at the list tonight, and I would love to try everything. I think I'll try to get the darker sours first and work my way down to the blondes. Whatever he can get is good for me I guess. Who am I to complain?

In all seriousness, Supplication is the way to go. If you like red wines vs white wines, then its Consecration vs Temptation.

And you should always ask for Pliny and Blind Pig especially if you haven't tried these yet.

I would ask for everything that's bottled. And, if he's a good friend, perhaps ask if he wouldn't mind making periodic trips back to the brewery, so he can pick up limited releases when they're made available.

Supplication and consercration are what I want right now, but I do plan on asking for Pliny and Blind Pig in my first, and hopefully not my last order).

If your buddy is from Chico he should be able to make recommendations. Sierra Nevada has some random brewery only beers that are different every time I go and aren't distro'ed but are very good.

Obviously multiple fresh bottles of Pliny and Blind Pig are a must. Also, row 2 is awesome but it doesn't look like its available in bottles at the moment.

I've had Pliny and Salvation from RR. Excellent, stupendous beers. Good stuff.

Look at my avatar, I got everything that they had bottles of (except for damnation because I've had a few times already) when I was at their brewery a few weeks ago, everything was fantastic, honestly do what I did and get a bottle of everything they are offering

I second Sierra Nevada, awesome brewery
Was at RR a few weeks ago and they didn't have any more bottles of Row 2, pretty sure they are out of Great beer great wine as well

I'd pass on their overrated IPA's and just do sours myself :-D

go take a trip to philly. you'll find RR all over the city! you're gonna be shelling out 10+ on a bottle though.
personally, i have several supplications and consecrations chillin' in a cedar trunk in my basement, among other goodies. you can't go wrong with those.

Supplication really is the best answer. If I was going to choose three beers from RR that I could have just by opening my fridge and grabbing one anytime I wanted, they would be (in order):

    1) Supplication
    2) Pliny The Elder
    3) Blind Pig
