$4$ I think you are getting the better of the deal. I'm estimating that you're giving up about $25 in exchange for $40. But hey if both sides are cool with it then you'll both get to get some awesome beers.

Agree with this. OP, I'd throw some locals like Fathead Head Hunter and/or White Rajah in there to even things out a little bit.

ETA: Heady is $15/4-pk so it's closer to $30 for what the OP is giving up.

Heady is not 15/4pk...the VAST majority of it is 13, and 75 a case (12.50/4pk)

Throw in some more Heady so that you'll sleep better at night. Srs.

The first time I got HT, a friend of a friend did me a favor and picked up 2 packs for $16/ea. I found out he paid for them on the higher end later. As you have seen from this thread that you commented on, people have seen them for a range of $13-$16: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/heady-topper-price-check.173163/ . I always give my trading partners $15 in trade value for a 4-pack of HT because of price variance. Not going to nickel and dime them even if they paid a buck or 2 less.

Oh, im not saying there aren't places that charge that...but as far as how much Heady is canned / distributed weekly, id say less than 20% is $15+. If people overpay, they overpay. I do find it funny if out of staters load up on 4pks at such prices, simply to trade. I mean, I would like to think most of them bought it buy the case, which as far as I know, is ALL $75 (and im pretty sure that is north of 600 cases a week)

Can you get cases pretty easily still after Alchemist stopped selling at their store? I keep hearing many places limit to 1 or 2x 4-pack? I'm seeing some prices like here: http://www.beermenus.com/places/12027-natural-provisions-market-deli. Do these prices in VT generally include tax? In PA, most places especially outside of Philly include tax in the list price.

There are 6 places that sell by the case, between them they receive 4 of the 5 days of the week. The problem is, most people come up on the weekends, so there is slim pickings. It certainly gets harder between Memorial Day / Labor Day...you start seeing lines forming for deliveries at such places.

Dont get me wrong, im not knocking people for buying it at the price (if i was in Cali and wanted to drink some Pliny, id gladly pay and extra buck or two). Its buying it at inflated prices, just to trade, that makes no sense to me...but hey, certainly doesn't affect me at all, so more power to them!
