The difference is most people who employ mules don't come here and brag about it. If you can't take the criticism, don't post about it.

And bagging on sharpski about a WA release is golden coming from the guy who gave people shit in a Toppling Goliath thread as you admitted you were having a case shipped from Iowa to you in WA. Glass houses and all.

Goddamn beer becoming Pokemon. I'm done. [sigh]

Just a heads up: Kids are welcome inside Holy Mountain if you're there to buy bottles, merchandise or get growler fills. My daughter has danced with the bar staff before while I'm just picking up something to go. And those employees have been gracious enough to tell snarky assholes that she can be there and to mind their own business before.

So really, seeing kids waiting outside with parents on release days is not strange. It's not ideal, but it's fine. As long as mom or dad doesn't plan on drinking, they can go inside.

Good to know, was not aware. Still won't be making a habit of this but I thought HM was strictly 21+.

For the most part they truly are, but it's a good reminder when bottles hit and you want to stop to grab one and happen to have your kid with you.

Bringing people (mules) with you so you can get more than the maximum allocation strictly for yourself is technically allowed.

Morally, however, it is not acceptable in my opinion and not fair to fellow people in the immediate community who made he effort to show up and get nothing.

Nothing new here, always going go be people trying to work the system whatever it is. Humans have been doing it forever.

Who cares though. The beer will be purchased, consumed, possibly enjoyed, and everything moves on.

I've done a few trades. Mostly I needed the "Trader" tag so I could participate in BIFs. I've never posted an ISO/FT. If there's a particular beer I'm interested in trying, it's usually some local shelf beer that sounds interesting tome, and I probably know a BA member who could grab it, so I just ask them if they can. The trading forums are the darkest side of BA. There's not much community, or Respecting Beer going on over there.

Without any disrespect to any opinions, isn't the horse dead yet? Live, love, drink great beer and forgive. We will endeavor to address all issues in the future but love should rule, and be the focus. Many a good time was had.

Hope you guys enjoy the beer. We enjoyed making, aging and blending

The horse may be, but the mule is not. Unfortunately, we still have to continue working on that one. :slight_frown:

Love should indeed rule, and be the focus. But it's a fragile principle that needs defending, lest this harsh world of ours swallow it whole.

Generally, I/we don't close down a thread because folks are passionate and emotional about the subject and/or content. Sure, if it reaches the point that the only posts showing up in the thread involve insults and vulgar language, then a thread will be shut down. Otherwise, the preferred practice is to delete those posts that are incendiary and defamatory, and allow members to discuss the topic as long as there's interest in discussing it. In comparison to some of the stuff I've seen back East and in the Pacific forum, the comments in this thread have been fairly tame.

As there still seems to be some interest in discussing the topic (all the more so I suspect, with the beer hitting distribution next week), I think it's appropriate to leave this thread open for further discussion

Dang, this thread is becoming eerily similar to some of the college sports recruiting sites and professional sports sites/forums I used to read. Great passion and lots of humor.

In response to less children at HM due to rail road track proximity, makes perfect sense. I never even thought of that.

*** Does anyone think some of these Fremont Barrel-Aged releases will eventually move over to the new Ballard location?*** I can see some pros and cons to this.

Let's stop feeding the troll (and further, perhaps let's keep the distro news hush hush except via some direct messaging, lest the troll sweep in w/ his mules and ruin it for some of us, again...).

I'll say this. In terms of injustice, in the grand scheme of things (this week especially) bringing a couple mules to a beer release doesn't even register. Douchey as it may be.

I'm gonna take my two bottles of Rusty Nail and fresh eggs down to my underground bunker now. Someone let me know when it's safe to come back up. Peace.

Well, the breweries want the hyperbole, as they're trying to sell some beer. Why take 3 months to sell a batch of beer when you can create enough demand for it, that you can sell as much as you wish in one day, and what's left will disappear quickly when it hits other shelves? I wonder what Saturdays numbers, minus the RN sales, looked like compared to average Saturday, summer numbers, and versus year-to-year date sales. I'm guessing a lot of folks who showed up to buy bottles also bought a draft, or other packaged brews, when they might not have even gone to the brewery that day otherwise. Brewers have to incentive to minimize the amount of money they make, that's why they open breweries instead of just being happy homebrewers.
