I don't get it, I've had 3 of Sixpoints offerings Sweet Action, Bengali Tiger, & this and they are all similarly dry hopped w/the addition of some sweet malt and that was about it for me, I was disappointed by all 3 and mystified by the hype.

I'm with the Nelson crowd. Not only my favorite Rye IPA, but my favorite beer...period. I wish I could have it all the time, envy you guys near Alpine. Who wants to do a Nelson for Head Hunter trade? :grinning:

To each is own, I kind of like that dry hopped and sweet malt thing that they do there.

I like Harpoon best, hop rod 2nd, ruthless rye in third. Haven't tried the others.

Hop Rod, Red's and Ruthless are all solid and inspired me to brew one this weekend. Might be delicious.

Plenty of good to really good Rye IPAs have already been mentioned.

Blue Point Rastafa Rye might not be IPA enough, but it's astounding.
    Lawson's Permagrin, ditto.
New Holland's RyePA Hatter is my grand champion, blew everything else out of the water fresh.
Except maybe Alpine Nelson, which is also unreal.

I love Founder's Red's Rye. Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger is my favorite, but unfortunately they don't bottle it.

Yep, Rye of the Tiger really is the best I've come across, but I didn't mention it since it's so rare..

I know it's very limited compared to the options being thrown out and walks the line between pale ale and IPA, but Lawson's Permagrin IPA is right up there with Bear Republic's HopRod Rye for me. Just finished my first bomber and can't wait to try the 2nd.

I really enjoyed the Rich & Dan's as well. Harpoon brews some nice stuff but doesn't always get the attention. My personal favorite from them is a fresh Leviathan Imperial IPA.

Cane & Ebel is really good. I hope Two Brothers distributes to other states besides ours, cuz everyone deserve to have this awesomeness easily available to them.
