No one is actively looking for Baudoinia. (See, I can make that argument too.)

I agree about the potential quality and rarity of PVW Black Magick...it's still a 12oz bottle. Props may be pretty hard to get in a few years...and it cost me $28/bottle on average, so it's not unreasonable, especially since it went for twice the cost and you would get twice the quantity as PVW Black Magick. Anyway, I would have offered more had the conversation continued.

That's b/c no one knows it exists and it was never released in bottles, so it's extremely hard to get.

I also offered a Black Fist as part of that deal, which is extremely rare and expensive.

lol apparently he was trying to trade **** you to the fullest extent. You are correct though, there are very very few people iso the beer. For what people want for it, id much rather trade for a vintage lambic of equal rarity...at least that way the beer will still be good

in hopes of bringing this post back on track, i would trade the papier for an equally rare bottle. My preference would be searching for a lambic, but that is only if you enjoy the style.

I don't know how you can know that. Are there many ISOs for Loerik? Must mean there is no demand. I could probably trade 6 bourbon county whatevers for them

exactly. there's a bit of self-policing going on there. if there wasn't that element of self-policing with people saying "i don't have what it takes, so i'm not going to offer" you'll never find good trades tucked under the thousands of "FT: daisy cutter ISO: blauw" posts.

Basing it on lack of ISOs. People go after what they want. However, I see your point. Limited bottles and with the market being flooded as it is, people may not even think about it anymore.

loerik actually has made the boards several more times than any papier variants lately.

Lets get some facts straight here.

There where was roughly 200 bottles of each papier variant produced. It is on the white whale list. People were give the option to buy from a single variant.

I traded for both brandy and rye whisky last summer and drank them this winter with some good friends. For Brandy I traded a 3ltr of supplication and for rye whisky I traded 5 loons - LP variants/Fou Founes/St Lamv etc.
so what your offering is way off with out getting into taste.

    From the original allocation email:

This weekend, in addition to our St. Veronus Celebration on Saturday, we'll be selling allocations (i.e. pay for your beer now, pick it up in May) for a special version of our first anniversary beer, "Papier" on Friday and Saturday. Papier is a Belgian-style Old Ale, with notes of caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, and toasted oak. This beer is approximately 15% ABV and when released will be aged for over a year.

There will be a limited amount of Papier that's 100% barrel aged, approximately 45 cases that will only be available at The Bruery. We'll release approximately 15 cases of the Bourbon barrel aged version, 15 cases of the brandy barrel aged version, and 15 cases of the rye whiskey version.

15 cases at 12 bottles per case means that a total of 180 bottles of each variant were made available for sale. (The Bruery did keep a certain number of bottles in the tasting room to be opened at future events, so that might bring the bottle count of each variant up around 250.)

BA Papier bottles are whales, a good percentage of people who know what they are do want them. The only problem is that they are so rare and exchange hands so infrequently, it is difficult for someone to get a grip on what it takes to land it without actual-trade proof (see earlier post about actual trades). Furthermore, Rye has historically been the most difficult to land.

I don't really care about this trade, and I no longer have any BA Papier (consumed). I'm just giving info on what I know from experience.

I don't trade anymore so I neither monitor nor care about trade value, but I traded Veritas 004, Deviation, and Cable Car 2010 for a set of all 3 BA Papiers a couple years ago, if that information is of any help to you.
