Anyone had this yet from Brau Brothers? I haven't been dazzled by this brewery, but just picked up a 750 of this guy for $15-- store had a full case on the shelf. How is it though? Can anyone compare it to Lunker? Rye-on-Rye?? Help me out crew! I can't get to cracking something this big for a week or 2 and want to make sure I don't realize it's awesome and can't get more.
I had one a week ago. They don't list the ABV on the bottle, but it must be high based on how I was feeling after drinking it. It went down a lot nicer than Lunker. I wish I tried them at the same time, but my impressions right now are that I prefer the Rye Wyne. Lunker was much more murky and thick.
I bought a bottle yesterday based solely on seeing it on the shelf and thinking it looked good. Of course, I've been conditioned to see wax and think "Oh, it's special, I have to buy it!". Haven't cracked it yet, although the two reviews on BA are good. Found mine at Thomas.
I thought it was really good. I would make the comparison to Rye-on-Rye. Very similar in my opinion. Haven't had Lunker so can't relate the two. I grabbed mine from Princeton's.
I got mine from the Big Top on Hwy 10 up here in Blaine / Fridley / Mounds View area (not sure which city this store is technically in)...
