Had a pour at Petrol. Really enjoyed it, going to open a bottle at home in a bit to write a proper review. Lots of chocolate, light vanilla, lots of dark fruits like figs and chocolate covered cherries, which make it a pretty unique and huge imperial stout IMO.
Had it last night after about a month hiatus from drinking, tasted awful to me. Had MTV and a few other stouts something was totally off on this one for me and the wife as well as a few others that had it we asked. I only had 1/4 of it which is saying a lot.
So I just had a pour at Billy's in Austin. It was great and boozy when cold, but as it warmed it became an acetaldehyde bomb. Crazy amounts of green apple. Not sure if the bottles are better but I'll probably be skipping them until I hear from a trusted palate.
