You are indeed reading correctly. Here's what they looked like right before the beer went into the bright tank.

They are going to be auctioned off to help further support Operation Homefront.

Will they all be distro to Houston? Has anyone seen them close to downtown?

I think they made quite a lot of this so no worries about tracking down a bottle sometime this week

We did two brews, 240bbls. That's less than divine.

Houston area Spec's are expected to get about the same quantities of Homefront IPA as we did Sailing Santa. Should be easy to run down some bottles somewhere.

Was the SA Homefront the only one to have the ball bats in it? And why put them in the beer?

Homefront was brewed in collab with Fremont out of Seattle. They started Operation Homefront with Chris Ray, pitcher for the Mariners at the time. Owner of Fremont wanted to get other breweries across the country involved. Since he was from Texas, Saint Arnold was his first choice.

Interesting, I did notice that other breweries, like Cigar City, were doing something similar. I figured that it was for the same cause.

It is, same cause, same recipe. There are six breweries doing it in all I believe.

Oh ok, I was thinking they would all be different recipes.

Picked up a bottle at Spec's and was a little surprised by the price...$7.89. At least the proceeds are going to a great cause.

It's enjoyable, but not nearly as good as Endeavour. Pretty drinkable and bright, but the hops didn't sit perfectly with me on the first few sips. Got better as I went along.

endeavor is a different style.. THis stuff is f'ing good ipa almost int he realm of a pale ale because it finishes very nice and not much bitter on the back end. This has nice fresh orange citrusy nose and it hits you in the front end while fading away as it goes further down. I give it a big thumbs UP!!!
