    Hey-ooooooo

Lots of great news to report this year.

    1) More time between SFBW and SBW. We bumped the dates a bit, this year it is February 27 to March 9.

    2) The return of the Sacramento Brewers Showcase! We've got 25 local breweries invited to our opening event on Feb 27 at California Auto Museum. Rare local beer for sure!

    3) Capital Beerfest is now Capitol Beerfest on the Capitol Mall! Our largest event may have as many as 100 breweries this year and it will be downtown, outdoors. Out-of-towners, AMTRAK delivers you 5 minutes from the event. March 9 from 1-5pm.

    4) VIP discount card. We will be selling a limited number of discount cards that grants you VIP admission to both event and a limited edition tulip glass. Seriously, this is a killer deal, make sure you get on it while it is available.

    5) More events, more venues, more breweries. A ton of great places have opened in the past year and are ready to jump on board.

Nothing is on the website yet, expect events to be posted starting February 1st. If a detail on the information posted above has not been included, it means that the detail has not been finalized. Patience, all will be revealed.

Well, looks like I gotta start planning again. Final Gravity, Beerfest, Downtown stuff, etc.

I hope there are more glass giveways that aren't just pint glasses. Beerweek is where I get my glass collection built.

I think I settled on the one I'm going to use.

It is awesome and sturdy enough to use in a bar fight.

Felt like beer week last night at that Art of Beer. I am hurting, but the even kicked ass.

That's not a glass, that's a goblet! I have one of those somewhere that I got from Coors, the first brewery I ever toured. I was 16.

12oz tulip, I think. Looks like any number of glasses which Belgian breweries produce.

Did you get to try the Firestone sour? That sounded interesting. I wonder if any places will have BCBS kegs during beer week?

Yes, it was nice and subtle, not overly sour, and plenty of funk to keep me going back for pours.

Firestone sour was called Agrestic. Taaasty.

Does anyone have a place where they can hang a SacBeerWeek poster where lots of people would see it? Like, hundreds? A local coffee shop? Your workplace? Shoot me a message [email protected] and tell me where you have in mind. No, I am not going to send someone a poster because they want one for personal use. I'll likely have leftovers post SBW and will be happy to share then.

Payday is coming soon, don't forget that the Beer Week Geek membership is now for sale!
