Whoever gets the reservation just needs to tell the front at Saint Arnold the name that purchased the tickets, I think that is all that needs to be done. The payment with you can obviously be settled latter.

Anyway that is the way I interpret this from the newsletter.

"Everyone will check-in using the last name of the person who purchased the tickets. So, if you bought four tickets under your name, everyone will use your last name to check-in. If only two of your guests are here at a time, that is fine. Whenever they arrive later, they will still check-in using your name. Please pass this information along to your guests."

Sunday was a great event. I did not go to Saturday, but on all accounts that was a blast as well. Bourbon Barrel DR 13 is one of the best beers I have had from Texas. I can't believe some people actually chose that crappy Houston Beer Fest over these.

I second this. BB DR13 was phenomenal! Stole the show and that is saying something considering the other things they had there.

Edit: I ended up going for the hour I could make it. Very glad I did this but sad to leave a bit early.

Those of you who could make it, I'm glad you had a good time. It's been tough getting to the regular Sunday tastings. Good to see those of known for years as well as meeting new faces.

I dropped the ball on picking up these tickets, but let's just say I have done my part since the early 90's celebrating with Saint Arnold's.

    Cheers

Icon Gold in bb2 barrels was my clear favorite, and weizenbock in rum barrels was my second. WB pumpkinator was also delicious, but I'm bias as that is my favorite all-time beer. Very fun event, glad I made it out.

This was a very well run, first-class event. Props to St. Arnold for not over-selling tickets.

My top three tastes of the day were the Bourbon Barrel DR13, Bourbonator and Biere de Saison in BB2 barrels w/ Brett.

I agree. Very nice event. Bourbon Barrel DR13 was my favorite for the day as well. They need to bottle that.

That sounds fantastic. Do you (or anyone) know if it was barreled from the initial release or a second batch of DR13?

They said 16 months in the barrels so that would be approximately from the initial release. Heaven Hill barrels I believe...

If Saint Arnold made the cellar tasting an annual event I would be there every year.

They only use Woodford Barrels for bourbon.

Also, meant to say the Boiler Room with the syrups was damn tasty. Anyone know where I can buy sweet woodruff leaves in Houston? Might take a shot at making some syrup...

We've never used Heaven Hill. The DR13 was Woodford Reserve. We mostly use Woodford, though BB5 was Old Forester.

The event was a blast. Look forward to doing more of these in the future.

Missed out on Sunday tickets but had a great time at the party on Saturday. Hayes was great as always and The Suffers were a welcome surprise. Love that 20th Ann. Barleywine.

Also, hat tip to Mongoose v. Cobra where we did some pre-drinking and watched the Belmont. Got my first taste of the BB Hellfighter.

Saint Arnold is supposed to start selling the syrups to go along with Boiler Room.
