If you think a beer is off, that is fine. If you don't like a beer that is fine. Though it is almost like clockwork that there is a post/thread about some hyped beer being infected when it is released. I mentioned those two specifically because I know of two individual threads claiming they were (someone really thought FBS, not even KBS was infected, and it was a several page thread). Most that have no credibility are deleted. If it is a big enough problem, you better believe there will be people saying as much all over the internet. There are plenty of recent "ticks" here (I know take that for what it is worth), Untapped check ins, reviews on rate beer here, my own experience, and other people that I know have had it within a few days, and there is no issue. There is no infection, unless I have proof from the people at the brewery, or incredible overwhelming evidence. Two or three posts does very little to convince me, and to me is laughable that people give credence to those. If it is off, that is one thing, far from an infection. End of rant

Edit: If there is real evidence, that is one thing and I will gladly admit I am wrong and take everything back. Though a few posts and literally nothing else, it is just a bad rumor.

Seriously not trying to start anything. Please chill out fellas. I love this brewery and I have the utmost respect for them. When I had DR9 for the first time in Houston was when I had my first "wow" moment with craft beer. This brewery got me hooked. And I'm really glad I can get their stuff in CO. I'm just letting everyone know, I had a bad bottle. Hasn't happened before and it's not likely to happen again. And I will continue to buy their stuff regardless of this experience and I hope everyone else does as well. No need for any further discussion on this topic honestly. Just my experience on Friday night. Cheers guys.

http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...nd-coffee-stout-2013-bad.177994/#post-2417605 BCBCS infected thread in the making.

The main point that you're making is that even good beers could have an off bottle or two (and I'm sorry if I'm wrong since I am putting words in your mouth). That's true and I'm sure it happens some but it would seem most unusual for an infection to be isolated to one bottle. If that was the case then the bad bugs would have to be in that bottle and not in the rest of the batch. I think that in most cases bottles are washed going down the line so it'd be strange for a very specific bug to be in one bottle since, IMO, that's more controlled and easier to keep clean than a whole fermenter and brewing system with all sorts of nooks and crannies for the bugs to hide out in. I can see individual bottles being oxidized or having off flavors because of poor sealing but actual infections limited to one bottle seem to be unlikely in my opinion.

Sorry you had a shitty bottle but your presence on BA makes me guess that you probably made up for it some time over the weekend and had a good beer to dull the pain of the experience  Cheers!

I will end this by simply saying... I'm sorry to have started this mini-uproar... I think bishop's barrel six is the best beer SA has ever produced (just barely over BB3 and BB5) and I"m still looking forward to popping open the 4 bottles i have in my cellar over time. Cheers guys

Not in an uproar at all, just overly opinionated  If you taste what you taste, I guess I can't argue with that...Though in this day and age of social media with nobody else saying anything of the sort, I just find it odd. This is not against you, but I have seen threads that say Bourbon County was infected, that FBS was infected (cause it had an acrid bitter coffee taste), that DR 13 was infected (on twitter), that diacetyl is an infection, and on an on. So I get pretty skeptical when I hear such things. Like I said, I will admit I am wrong, and apologize for...well being me I guess. No hard feelings
