Ok, so this is new but is it a new stout base or is there first bottling of what has already been out there on draft? I believe I have heard in the past that they use BJ's base stout. Anyone have any knowledge to drop about this brew?

Saint Arnold BB Stout was Tatanka in bourbon barrels, released once a year around St. Patricks Day. I believe this is something completely different, and their own imperial stout. I have seen the barrel room at their brewery, so they are doing some new beers aged in different barrels, just not sure on the specifics. Maybe awinkro can enlighten us?

The only other Stout I've had from them was Pumpkinator. So if that's any indication, I'll definitely be on the hunt for this.

Flying Saucer in Garland had their BB Stout last winter. Hopefully this is something different, as the stuff I tried had an overwhelming bourbon taste and not much else going on. Regardless, its nice to see they're adding some BA options to the line-up and I'm sure I'll give it another try, even if its the same recipe.

I'm pretty sure its Tatonka. The really nice barrel was Chardonnay Barrel Christmas Ale With Cherries and Brett!!! Yummers!

I saw their Barrel Aged Room a few weeks ago, They have a few different styles in there. Brock really didn't let us look around in the room but he did take us through it when he gave my class a personal tour. He said we were not supposed to know about the room, he did tell us that they were going to be small batches soon of 12 oz and bombers being aged in barrels later on in a q&a though(he was even using barrels from a small tequila and rum distiller in Galveston. [Railean's]) . Brock is a truly nice person and I love what he is doing at St. Arnold's, he is definitely representing Houston in the craft beer industry.

I asked him about this last week at Petrol. He said this would be a very small batch, most likely for on premise accounts only. Slight chance of a VERY small amount going to specs, but that was probably unlikely.
