I know that many Beer Advocates on here trade for Saint Arnold's Pumpkinator, so I just wanted to give you a head's up. There was a problem with capping in one of the bottling runs, which can lead to leaky bottles. I personally had three bottles leak, and a friend of mine had a leaky one as well.

So far, the brewery is agreeing to replace the bottles, but again I just wanted to give a head's up to anyone trading for them. It would be a total buzzkill to trade for a bottle only to have it arrive in less than pristine condition!

Saint Arnold Endeavours also have leaked on me.

I've had Endeavor and DR13 leak on me during shipping. None of the non-St Arnold beers in that box leaked. I've been weary of St Arnold caps since. Interesting to now see issues with Pumpkinator as well.

I guess if I turn a bottle upside-down for a prolonged period that would be a good stress test??

I tried this with my bottles and none of them bubbled or hissed. Then I gently pulled on the caps with my fingertips and one of four began to hiss. I will definitely ship with caution. (Or better yet drink them myself and avoid the potential hassle)

Is this common for them? A buddy of mine brought a bottle on a trip last year and it leaked in his suitcase.

They've had a few capping issues in the past - I know Sailing Santa had similar cap issues. Apparently they believe it was only one batch of the bottles that is having this issue, so hopefully we'll know more soon.

The cap on the one I bought last week didn't seem to be sealed very tightly. Popped off very easily, I fell like I could have done it with my fingers instead of the bottle opener. Removing it didn't even cause the cap to bend.
