Fun event today. The coconut pecan variant was solid. The banana pancakes one was good as well. It started as a maple bomb but it had an authentic banana flavor after warming up. Double vanilla BA and regular BA were on equal footing to me. I got light barrel with a lot of cinnamon with almost a peppery note. I think a couple of months will help this beer if the cinnamon calms down a smidge.

I was underwhelmed with every SE beer I tried at the event. The coconut pecan was bland. The banana pancakes was better, but not for me. The regular BA was a green apple bomb. It was hard to get past that flavor. I thought the BA vanilla was better than the regular BA.

I have not tried the BA version so obviously can't comment on that. I popped a regular last night and it is everything I remember, still my favorite all time stout. Somehow tastes like hazelnut despite not being in the beer. The mexican coffee and cinnamon balance each other out perfectly. $16 a 4/pack? Sign me up for a monthly batch!

I did not try any variants but kind of figured they would be a let down. Once you start messing with something very good, it is usually not going to get better. Similar to BCBS, Benthic, BBB, etc. in my opinion.

Had banana and BA nilla yesterday on tap. Banana was meh when cold, and then a banana bomb as it warmed. Mediocre beer. Double vanilla was ok. Nothing to write home about.

Picked up Wander On and noticed that they are now brewing and canning out of Urban Renewal Brewery. Anybody know why they left Begyle?

Sub question would be did they leave Begyle or are they in multiple locations? Thanks for bringing it up as I hadn’t noticed

I can see HB in multiple locations from demand but, this is Saint Errant. Not the biggest of hype producers.

I think Begyle is looking to up production in their space.

You may be right. BA Tepoztecatl was bottled at Begyle for what it’s worth...

I was at the release at Green Lady. Just did pick up tho. Just went to the “cellar”(mini fridge) and noticed that also. Must of been recently.
    Possibly. Would make sense tho.
