Chapter 1: Citra is FUCKING legit.

I have to echo this. This is really really good and back on track after the disappointment of Cheap Thrills. Wish I had picked up a second bomber.

I was disappointed again, I'm 0 for 2 on Saint Errant. Matched with the 750 format that I don't like, I'll be passing moving forward.

And before ol' boy chimes in again, yes I let the damn beer warm up. I found it unpleasantly tangy, & it got worse as it opened up.

Well, I'm glad you gave them another shot. I thought Cheap Thrills was pretty bad and overly thin with not much going on, basically like drinking some flavored carbed up water, so felt bad that was your first taste of them.

The Chapter 1: Citra is like how the previous beers (Basic Set, Strange Loops, etc.) have been in my opinion, but if you aren't into it then you probably wouldn't like those previous ones as well.

I opened a Chapter 1: Citra over the weekend and I thought it was good, but nothing too great. It's the kind of beer I would order at a bar or taproom if it were on tap, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase it again...especially with the format.

I’m drinking this again, and I’m so happy with this beer. Nose is more balanced and rich. Significantly more sweetness than I remember, and yet still the same complexity and robust integration. This is a world-class beer.

The new ipa, sleight of hand, isn’t great. I picked up a smokey flavor (possibly the enigma hops?). Had a 6oz sample at mikerphone

    Any word on No Cake?

Just popped a No Cake to myself. My first glass is still coming to room temp so I might be missing something. It is very thick and almost oily. Huge vanilla flavor. I don't get much cinnamon.

Keep me updated if it is worth seeking out. Supposedly still gonna be distro’d

Cinnamon is super subtle even when it's room temp. The initial flavor is kind of salty. Hard to describe and it threw me off at first. The beer grew on me for sure. Overall it tastes really similar to cake. The graham cracker flavor is pretty dominant throughout the flavor. It is worth seeking out IMO (I flew off the couch mid-nap to grab it when I saw the FB post. I don't regret my decision)

I just opened a bottle and got the same weird smokey flavor. Was not a fan at all. It's unfortunate, because I've been a big fan of everything else they've put out.

I got the same thing out of this beer. All I really tasted was the smoke.

No Cake distro’d this week, by the way. Liquor Park had a bunch.

Has anyone tried their newly released stout, Contrapasso yet?

Great question - I only saw 2 untappd reviews, and 1 was meh and 1 was yay; given the beer’s title, seemed very appropriate. Suffer the opposites, indeed!

I’m not going to buy it, unless it is unanimously the Greatest Beer Ever.

Maybe not the greatest beer ever but top 3 worthy. I thought no cake fell a little flat and it was my first letdown by Saint Errant. I will probably wait until their next offering comes out before I make a purchase. Do you know if they’ve started a barrel aging program?

Most likely no BA program due to brewing out of Mikerphones facility.

I would definitely be first in line for BA tepoztecatl. That beer was incredible.

They did some BA beers while homebrewing, so I'd assume they will once they get space for it. Had a BA stout at pale pauper a year ago and a BA peach sour they brought to a bottle share, both were awesome

Awesome thanks for the info. Hopefully we’ll see their success turn into their own standalone brewery.
