Just bought a bottle of this (The Bruery) yesterday. After getting home I realized it was bottled March of 2013. The bottle claims it's good up to two years. Called The Bruery but couldn't get anyone on the phone. Does this one taste fine after two years or should I take it back? Part of me thinks it's a great score but according to the bottle I'm not so sure.

3 weeks ago I opened a bottle of this that was 5 years old. It was incredible. I wrote a full review for it but have not uploaded it to the site yet.

IMO that is a great score if it was stored properly. Saison Rue has brett in it and it developes with time. My bottle had wonderful barnyard quality blended with a bright citrus character. By no means did it taste old in my opinion.

i love aged saison rue. my vote: ignore what the bottle says, it is indeed a score.

just make sure to chill it before you open it so it doesn't gush too much.

I'd call that a score personally. I can't imagine it being not "at least as good" as a fresher one.

Good point on the spillage though, consider a container to catch some liquid in, or over the sink.

Way better at two years than fresh.
