Stumbled across this today and had to share. I've been meaning to buy a few lids for my kegs that have seen better days. Always cringe at the price (usually $25-30 a piece) and never end up pulling the trigger. Randomly today I see them for $15.99 a piece on sale over at Austin Homebrew and decided that this price was as good as I'll ever see, so I bought a few. Just curious -- why do you have a need to buy 'a few' lids? One, maybe, but a few seems odd. Most lid problems can be fixed with some creative flexing, for lack of a better term.
$15.99 is a good deal. Would've been helpful a year ago when I bought a used corny, and the PRV on the lid was sealed shut for some odd reason. I think I ended up buying that same one you posted for $25
Well, I definitely need 1, maybe 2 right now, and figured I'd buy another for the future just in case. Just recently I ruined a lid by (I think) hitting it with co2 at higher than normal pressure. Believe it or not, the plastic part where the PRV valve would be located on a ball lock lid, broke once I hit about 45 PSI even carbing a beer. And speaking of pin locks, these lids could also be used to replace the lids on your pin lock kegs - which I happen to have a few of - and have always missed the manual PRV feature on those lids.
If I needed an extra lid I'd buy one of these instead for 9$ more http://www.austinhomebrew.com/Lid-for-Corny-Keg-with-Dry-Hop-Tab_p_4766.html
