Salute to Saisons! (2023)

Saisons falling off the front page? Not on my watch...

House Saison from Fine Creek Brewing in Powhaten, VA. Every time I visit Virginia I pick up as many FC beers as I can, as they are always high quality. This one's a bit dry and pepper-y, but quite enjoyable.

Enjoying this Brasserie de Jandrain Jandrenouille IV Saison 6.5% ABV. Quite a unique set of aromas and flavors in this one. Pepper, lemongrass, herbal and earthy. Well worth the puchase. Cheers all!

 

A lovely drop here. Tastes & feel are great and zero alcohol traces at 7.4%. Masterful. Insight Sunken City Saison w Savignon Blanc Grapes. Fruity, dry as heck, gently sweet and has a wicked long zesty linger with some light bread notes at the top of the finish. Good price as well at $8.99 a 4pk. Cheers!

Off Color Le Predator



Brewery Notes: $6 16 oz draft pour, French Farmhouse Ale, 6.5% ABV.

Appearance: Murky golden orange base, bright creamy head leaves fine lacing and nice cover over the base. 4.0

Aroma: Light pear, clove with faint apple. Really light. 3.25

Taste: Bolder taste strength, consistent with the aroma. Pear and apple, clove banana. Not my favorites generally, but this blend works well for me. Stealth pepper and spices. 4.0

Mouthfeel: Really light and easy drinking, light body with sustained light carbonation providing the most depth. Nice blend, balanced, mild plus dryness, dry clove finish. 4.25

Overall: This is is nice light refreshing saison, off memory my favorite of the variants, though 10 year old birthday boy OG Apex Predator still leads their pride. Will order again with confidence. 4.0

Could be my last saison of the year, but looking forward to 2024!
