First time trying this and it’s hitting all of the right notes. A tad maltier than I’d like but the yeast is shining. Tasty example of the style.

Mr./Ms. Foley, just ignore my tasting notes, they don't seem to make any sense to you. You're probably right!

    Cheers.

12 oz bottle stamped 23 May 28 (no clue if this is exp date or mfgr date) into a tulip glass.
L: SRM 2 Pours a radiant yeasted lemon color with a light gold center, very active steady carbonation bubbles, a thin white frothy head that has very good retention, medium random lacing then no lacing with warming.
S: Belgian yeast, lemon zest, orange, distant caramel, a hint of bread with warming, lightly earthy.
T: Orange zest, light spices, earthy lemon, wheat, yeast, grains. Bright fruity finish with wheat notes.
F: Soft then even softer medium to med-light bodied feel with a medium-length slightly drying finish. The finish does linger.
O: Delicious, soft, and easy-drinking. A very pleasing and approachable Saison. I will buy this again. It is outstanding in its style.

I've really taken to this Brasserie de Jandrain IV Saison 6.5% ABV. Spicy and herbal aroma and flavors on a soft malt backbone. Some grape-like fruitiness. The world needs more Saison! Well crafted.

Saison du Village from Sundial in the northern hinterlands of the greater Chicago area. Notes ot tart strawberry, wood & mild honey. A big, bold nose with a more mannered taste. Very enjoyable!

Enjoying a Birds Fly South Rumblefish Hoppy Saison acquired last February. Bottled in 2019, no head was created upon decanting, but the Brett has performed nicely as i am getting classic barnyard nose and taste. Very enjoyable, glad i picked it up!
    Cheers!

Onto round 2 and enjoying Siren's Lure from Fair Winds in Virginia. Maybe my palate is off from the first beer today but Siren's Lure drinks more like a fruity APA/IPA flavor wise, but it does have a nice Saison light body and is very refreshing. Definitely enjoyable.
    Cheers!

Happy Birthday! Ok, you probably meant the temperature, but in my defense, it’s been 60° lots of times, maybe not this year, but I should stop typing now. How about this…

    Elle - Jackie O’s

Good stuff. Tons of sweet fruit, lemon, apple, Riesling, mild oak, range of tartness.

As some of ya'll may be figuring out, I've grown quite found of the Saisons from Brasserie de Jandrain-Jandrenouille. One of my local bottle shops brought some of these in recently. I just know they probably won't reorder after these after they run out, so I've been snapping then up a little at the time. Like my own personal stash!

Ya know, given how infrequently I have been drinking these lately, one would never know this is my favorite style family. Personal comments aside…

    Oh, and happy Easter!

    El Cedro - Jester King

Not sure if the second pour will carry more yeast haze. The aroma is fairly fruity, with mild funk. Lots of fermented apple and grape. Once cedar and lemon show-up they are unmistakable, same with the coriander and cumin. New suede comes out with warmth. The aroma keeps progressing, adding and eliminating layers along the way. Much more bitter than expected, with spices leading the change. Tartness is subdued, with mild acidity. It’s a hoppy farmhouse beer to be sure. Long, powerful finish is very dry. Alcohol is prominent yet less than 10.57% suggests. Energetic effervescence.

The cheese is soft and washed with Chimey, but far more mild than hoped for. Next time I will be sure to get something pungent. Still, it’s a good pairing.

    Second pour…

Aroma has added fresh tangerine, and mild perfume. This is a GREAT beer.

Enjoying a loved mixed fermentation Saison from Zillicoah which is in the greater Asheville area. Tart, funky, apple, and white wine. This is a really nice sipper. Rated 4.18.
