Sounds tasty - I think these two breweries pairing up together is great news for craft beer.

Sounds delicious and I am so thankful that it's not another IPA.

Sounds like a good beer. I’d definitely give it a try.

If you’re brewing a beer with your boss though, is it reallllllly a collaboration?

    Is this a one-off taproom-only release? From mybeerbuzz.com:
I can truly say that it'll suck big time if I never see this. :slight_frown:

This pretty sounds exactly like the beer I wanted out of this merger, and they make it tap room only ughhhhhh.

They better make a 60 Minute Boston Lager for mass production.

Also, the Hazy Spelt IPA DFH is about to put out looks pretty good. Hope that comes around soon.

That would be an intriguing variant of Boston Lager.

I wonder if the 'new' Boston Beer Company folks are monitoring this thread?

    Cheers!

I was wondering if anything was going to come from the merger and starting to think that maybe it was all just talk but now we actually have something. Still, I was hoping for a bit more, at least on the Sam Adams side.

Jim, what are your thoughts on the idea by @jayrutgers of a continuously hopped Boston Lager?

    Cheers!

First ask yourself why I would not like that idea. OK, good. :stuck_out_tongue: I think they'd need to work on it to get it balanced properly, and I'm not sure they could exactly go with the hops they're using, maybe so, maybe not. It certainly couldn't hurt, especially if they follow through completely. I think a lot of stuff at Boston Beer comes down to money because they're working on such a large scale and my guess is that that has sometimes hurt them in the past because they held back a little too much. Sam on the other hand follows his passion and just goes for it.

You thoughts there set off a 'light bulb'. Maybe they could create a Boston Lager variant whereby they continuously hop and using a differing hop variety than Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Tettnang Tettnanger. What hop variety(s) would you suggest here? Maybe Loral?:stuck_out_tongue:

    Cheers!

"Altruism and mutual support" says Sam, is way different than a corporate merger. By the way , why do Sam and Jim sound permanently drunk?

I'd go with Loral, Crystal, and probably Cascade. There are a lot of possibilities though.

I must confess I am a bit shocked you listed Loral (based upon past comments you have made).:flushed:

The new lager from Yards has converted me. I'm not kidding. Maybe it was just that I didn't like the way Stone was using them, or the mixture with other hops. I'm really, really happy with "Loyal Lager".
