Does anyone know what new beers will be included in the Samuel Adams Fall Variety Pack this year? Usually I'm able to find articles on it by now, but I can't find anything.

I'm interested to know too, especially since the Sam Adams Octoberfest is already out on the shelf.

Weird, feels like the line up is usually available with a quick google search by the end of July. Latest thing I can find is the AWFUL pack from last year with BL, Kosmic Sour, Sam 76, and Oktoberfest.

BL, Oktoberfest, a pumpkin ale, and a random lager or even an IPA would be nice.

Shipyard Pumpkinhead and Paulaner Oktoberfest out here in Tampa Bay but still haven't spotted Sam's yet.

I'd buy either combination. I'm hoping they keep Sam 76 out of there.

Remember when they used ro include things like Black Lager and Dunkelweizen in the fall pack? And Cream Stout and Holiday Porter in the winter? Yeah, modern Sam Adams can kiss my ass.

Sam Adams was my gateway into craft. I remember buying a 30 pack of variety pack at sams club that had Boston lager, Boston ale, scotch ale, black lager and one other. It was the best pack that i can remember them putting together. Not sure why they release the same stuff over and over again but neglect the classics that made them great.

They are trying to 'expose' people to this beer with the hope of subsequent sales. Sam 76 is not a favorite for me but this could be the sort of beer that the 'cross-over' crowd could enjoy.

I personally do not buy Yuengling Lager but millions of others do.

    Cheers!

The only SA beer I’d buy at this point would be the Boston Ale and I haven’t seen that here ever, I bought it when I lived in PA but that was in the 1990s. I find it hard to get excited about their beer to be honest.

Below is how I discussed Yuengling Pilsner in a past thread:

"That beer is by no means my favorite Pilsner but considering the price it is a very pleasant beer to drink. Perhaps a perfect picnic party beer?"

    Cheers!

It seems interesting that they and SN discontinued their seasonal variety pack efforts almost simultaneously.

Boston Ale is good, but I find that most of the rest of their beer has this taste that is almost like perfume, especially Boston Lager. A lot of their beers have this flavor, so I’m not sure exactly if it’s malt, yeast, or hops doing this...

I personally wouldn't call it perfume, but the SA yeast comes through on many of their beers and messes them up. I am okay with it in Boston Lager, but I think it ruins their Oktoberfest for instance.

New Belgium also has that Fat Tire tasting yeast in many of their beers and I can't stand it.

One distinctive American yeast I do like though is Lagunitas. It is the reason so many of their beers taste similar with that almost stickiness. Tony Magee even confirmed to me in person that the yeast is what makes their beers similar, as they mix up the malts and hops a lot across their beers.

I will consider buying any SA variety pack that features Noble Pils. I’ve yet to try an American made Pilsner that I enjoy more...

I love pumpkin ales and am hoping this year's Fall pack actually has more Fall beers than Oktoberfest like last year. That said, what in the hell are they thinking? This looks like a Summer Ale with pumpkin. I'm glad they listened to all the people clamoring for that..........

I may be wrong, but IIRC Lagunitas uses the Fuller's strain (either Wyeast 1968 or White Labs 002, I can't remember which).

Sam 76 is rather disappointing. I rated it a 2.75, rDev -24.7%. Please, include something with more flavor! Like........Utopias!:yum:

I mean it's almost August. By Boston Beer Co.'s standards, shouldn't it be time for the Winter pack?

I'm almost ready to start to get into all the fall beers however we're going on our 2nd week of upper 80's and 90's here. I'm currently crushing some Summer Shandy's and pale lagers! Usually a week or two into August and I start craving some of my fall favorites. I'm excited to see what they'll put out. Hopefully with all that's going on, it'll be something new and exciting.
