Boston Lager will be in those packs until the end of time because it's their flagship and the beer you're most likely to buy more of. If you like one of their random other mixed-pack beers, you're pretty unlikely to buy a whole other 12-pack just to get a couple of them. However if you like Boston Lager, there are tons of ways to get more of that one. From draft, to 6-packs, to cans, to another variety pack.

Interesting. Would be nice for a change up but I do miss that Hazel brown. Seems to me over the years they take away all the great beers and replace them with wit biers no one asked for...

It's not surprising that Sam Adams puts their most popular beer in their variety pack, but their other picks this year have been bizarre. Replacing the best beers from their variety packs last year with more generic beers.

It's such a perfect beer for the fall weather. I freaking love that beer.

They released it last May. Already sold out. Their 2015 selection should be on the shelves soon.

It is July 25th. The middle of summer.

No talking about fall beers or pumpkin beers.
I know they are on the shelf already. I am just going to pretend I don't see them.

How is the weather on the east coast? Here is Michigan we just had the shittiest winter in recent memory and I am not sure that we have got past spring yet. At this point I am confused as to what the season may be. It is cool and cloudy outside right now, are you sure it is not fall?

Here in rural Northwestern Pennsyltucky / Southwestern New York it's in the high 60s / low 70s.... and this guy if freaking LOVING it...!! Anything over 75 and I start to melt. ...and my favorite season is Fall all the way around... especially the fall beers! And Sammy does them best IMHO. Spaten Octoberfest is pretty darn good, too!

You honestly think Sam Adams Octoberfest is one of the best Octoberfest's around?? I mean, it's a well-known, popular beer and pretty easy drinking, but it's not true to style or well made. It's meant for the crossover drinker, like most. Of their beers. Try a fresh German one side by side, please. And sorry to sound like a beer snob, that's not my goal. I just want to introduce people hooked on SA Octoberfest to try something better this fall.

I've been all over Germany for the sole purpose of trying beer, and tried most every available Märzen (Ayinger, Spaten, Weihenstephaner, Hacker, HB, etc...). It's one of my favorite styles. I never said Sam Adams was super traditional. I just said that I liked it. Tons of rich, sweet malts, cheap, and available. I'll try harder to be more of a purist this Fall...

I wish they'd bring back Bonfire Rauchbier and Dunkelweizen, and have the Harvest pack be Octoberfest, Hazel Brown, BR, Dunkelweizen, Harvest Pumpkin and Boston Lager (would substitute Black lager to make it a all seasonal one, though wishful thinking)

I get this. But even those people have probably tried Boston Lager already. Why not include something different in the variety pack? I doubt many people are buying the variety pack without ever having tried something from Sam Adams before.

Today was in the low 80s. It's almost midnight, and it's only 67 degrees right now. On Sunday/Monday it's supposed to be just shy of 90 degrees. Most of the summer has been tolerable so far. Not many days have been above the low 80s. I live in south east PA.

It's been 90° and 80% humidity here for a while... any kind of beer is good, as long as it's cool.

If someone is giving away Oktoberfests, I am in!

Likely beecause 2-3 bottles of Boston Lager in a mixed 12-pack makes more money for Sam Adams than 2-3 bottles of Boston Lager in a six pack of all Boston Lager.
