Austin Liquors in White City in Shrewsbury, MA had it today. Just made a Maine run last week and literally can't fit an additional can in my fridge, so I passed it up. Was hoping to find it at Julio's so I could pick up a single, but it's come and gone there.

To each their own, but I wouldn't use Limbo as an example of bad beer, it's gets a 91 here and 95 on Ratebeer.

Sometimes reading reviews I find it so amusing that people can give exact opposite descriptions of the same beer.

SN Pale Ale is still bottle conditioned. See this recent post by a Sierra Nevada's Product Development Manager:

I agree with you. Have you had the beer? Anyone who says this doesn't have much of a malt backbone has little or no experience drinking IPAs from Treehouse, Hill Farmstead, Trillium, etc. Those beers are all about the hops with little malt backbone or just enough to let the hops stand up. If they use any crystal malt at all it's just a touch of C-15. This beer definitely has a lot of caramel malt.

No I haven't. But seeing such opposite views makes me want to drink one to find out!

Well, we had different experiences, it happens.

I've had multiple IPAs from Hill Farmstead/Trillium. We agree the beer was quite bitter, but I often get this with beers that may use heaps of Cascade, like Celebration. But Celebration has a very pleasant malt profile, specifically a nice caramel malt character to make it more drinkable/balanced. I didn't get much of that with Rebel Raw.

Now, it was the last beer of the day, so perhaps I need to try it again. Also, the beer was a hop monster and was only two weeks old. My experience with Hill Farmstead IPAs was that fresh from the brewery they were overly bitter to my palate, and a week or so did the beer(s) wonders. Perhaps if Rebel Raw is a little less green, the caramel malt will pull through for my palate.

Neither of us enjoyed it though, at least we agree on that part...well, unfortunately we agree on that.

Thank you for this info. Figures Austin doesn't post this on social media and SA didn't have it on their location list. Do you recall a price on it and if they had a lot of it? I'm just happy I don't have to go on the Mass Pike to find this.

Anybody know if there's any of this still sitting on shelves around Boston? Or if there having another release soon?
