    1. I haven't posted on BA in a long time

    2. I am certainly no Sam Adams fluffer

    3. I have been waiting for a beer to come along that tried to emulate and/or clone Heady Topper. This is the first to come along that meets the challenge.

it comes pretty close.......just falls short. But, most impressive for $10.99 6-pack 12oz bottles and certainly available

So it's a west coast style IPA that tastes like the gold standard of Vermont IPAs. Mission accomplished?

Haven't tried it, so I'm purely speculating. I suspect that this will be closer to "poor man's Heady Topper" rather than "Heady Topper clone" )

I thought it was a malty mess. Tasted really old to me and its new so it hasn't had time to sit on shelves. Not good

I enjoyed Rebel Rouser quite a bit. However, it is not at the level of Heady Topper. It's a good DIPA, and the price point ($9.49) makes it worth buying. Does anybody know if they are going to offer 12-packs? I saw Rebel IPA 12-pack of cans, really hoping they can Rebel Rouser as well, that would make it an easy buy for me.

Ok you established you're not a Sam Adams fluffier aka not in the **** business. Can you also confirm you are not Timothy Leary

Doesn't look like it. The label says, "West Coast Style" not "Vermont Style".

For a Sam Adams attempt at a DIPA, I thought this was A for effort, but it ain't that special. Heady? Um, no.

Not even close to heady. Have you had heady before? This was malty and tasted with a Sam..

Umm, you probably wouldn't use caramel 90L malt in a Heady clone.

I've never had Heady but I picked up a sixer of Rebel Rouser at the grocery store just over a week ago and was very disappointed. It's not a bad beer, but for a beer that's being marketed as a west coast style ipa it is a failure. I've seen some posts that say it's a good beer for the price. Screw that, I'd rather pay the extra money for the hop forward flavor I would expect from a west coast style ipa. I'm not a SA hater, but they aren't giving me many reasons to like them these days either.

The proliferation of mediocre DIPAs is astounding. Bootleg Fireworks, Mayflower Alden, to name a few.
