I am truly, genuinely interested in procuring and tasting (most likely along with several other people) a 1997 bottle of Samuel Adams Triple Bock. Where does this even land in terms of trading for one? I don't know if I have seen one change hands recently.

And yes, I know of how it reportedly tastes.

    Any information is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Shane

Hey Shane. I traded 1 Westy 12 for two bottles of '95 Triple Bock a couple of years ago. I think you can probably get a bottle of '97 for $10-$15 of somewhat limited shelf beer (perhaps less given that a lot of people are not fans of it). It seems to be around even with the release date being nearly 20 years ago.

I traded a bottle of beatification for one recently.

I was sent free bottles of 94 and 95 Triple Bock all because I posted my interest. Triple Bock is an interesting brew, because you never know what you're going to get. It could be the worst bottle of anything you've ever had or it'll be one of the better beers you've had.

Just make sure that you have a strainer on hand to prevent the chunks of cork from floating around in your glass.

P.S. it's also the most syrupy beer you'll probably ever had. The mouthfeel might deter many.

Good luck, hope the bottle you get tastes better than what I had, although some wasabi and sashimi would have turned my defeat into triumph.

Discount Liquor in Milwaukee still has it I think. I'm shocked the beers above were traded for it. $10 tiny bottle of hot or miss beer, but I get the novelty of it. I've had it once before.

Ton of cork in the beer too. Not a great bottle, but drinkable

Thanks for the insight, I don't want to give up anything more than I should for a bottle of soy sauce.

Title asks where to start. Id start(and end) with hoping it pops up a random tasting I attend, or I stumble upon it at a bottle shop. Otherwise wouldnt worry about it, youre not missing much

You're probably right; however, it's the allure of its awfulness that keeps drawing me in. Plus, it gives me something else to chase down besides the new "wale of the week."

I too felt an allure of awfulness and had someone send me a FFF Bully Guppy...worst 'beer' I've ever had...undrinkable and promptly thrown in the trash shortly after opening...I felt similar about the Triple Bock '97, although at least that was barely drinkable.
