I'm pretty sure that it, being a lager, is actually one of the more expensive beers to make because of the time that lagering takes.

Very disappointed in this. I was hoping to get the Chocolate Bock or some twist on the style. I'm also still bitter about the whites overtaking the stouts/porters in a winter pack. Sam does a great Holiday Porter and the Black & Brew was a solid stout a few years back. I thought the 2-2-4-4 would be a step in the right direction by having BL, seasonal, seasonal 2, and new beer, encouraging creativity and focusing on that one "new" beer. Harvest Saison was pretty decent.

Of course, Old Fezziwig needs to be in the pack, but I'm a little upset that they are sticking with a generic white and the flagship being in every pack. I'm kind of beating the dead horse on that one but how much promo does one beer need? Sam Adams Boston Lager is becoming the Budweiser of craft beer in terms of shelf space. Creativity is down at Sam and now I believe the 2-2-2-2-2-2 concept is better (especially winter) at this time for them. So many quality beers discontinued.

On a side note, if they follow their fall concept, I believe it would be 4-Winter, 4-White Christmas, 2- Fezziwig, and 2-Boston Lagers. That make a little more sense.

Yeah, this is many, many steps down from their previous winter mixes.

I just don't understand the White Christmas. It's a witbier. Who the hell wants to drink a witbier when it's 20 degrees outside?

It's probably cheaper for them to do it in this format.

Just like I'm the only man on earth that loves their White Christmas. I could drink it by the gallon. I have no idea why.

Wow, I haven't been this disappointed by a Sam Adams Winter Pack since.... well... last year.

But if this really is the format, then for the first time in a decade I will NOT be buying.

All I can say is "Thank God for mix six racks, so I can get my Old Fezziwig fix this year."

That is one useless mix pack. Wow. Come on, Sam Adams. You're better than that.

Would have been infinitely better with
    2 BL
    2 Winter Lager
    4 Old Fezzi
4 Holiday Porter, Black and Brew, Scotch Ale, Chocolate Bock, Cream Stout, or a new winter beer(anything but a witbier or cherry lambic)

Sam Adams has a serious problem with brewing way to many witbiers that are ok at best.

Why do they keep playing hard to get with such a dignified beer in their portfolio? Sigh.
I guess it'll be some more years before I drink the Old Fez again. I miss that beer.

I'll buy it only if there are fewer than 4 Boston Lagers and preferably no White Christmas.

Are you shittin' me - only 2 old Fezz??? well, I WAS gonna buy a 12 pack, but since I now know this is the format, forget about it. I'm another one that's is on the bandwagon of "Old Fezziwig should be in six packs". If they put the Harvest Pumpkin in 6 packs, then Old Fezziwig should be sold in sixers as well.

Welp, count this year as the first year I don't buy it. Four BLs? I love BL, but get off your BL trip Mister Koch.

Sorry Ol Fezzi, but you're no longer wanted if these are the friends you keep.

I'll buy my case of Winter Lager and be gone.
