Thought I'd start one. Been trying to drink great, local, and available beer. Plus even though Sam is sometimes looked at as being a big beer company, they still have great craft roots. From what little I know they do a bit for aspiring brewers. Like the Long Shot beers. Had these three last night in a $10 mix 6. Great deal and all were good! Anyone have more recommendations? Also aside from getting stuck with Sam Larger the Summer Pack looks good this year. But then again fresh Sam Larger is solid. Long Shot Magnificent 7 a solid DIPA Double Agent IPL pretty similar to JA Hoponius New Albion Ale Other Sam surprises I've had in past Chocolate Bock and Hopology Pack
I like a lot of what they make. People give them a hard time but they make good beer and help support and advance craft beer IMO. Double agent IPL is good. They make a good dunkelweizen and release some good big bottle items too. Id look them up but im typing from my phone.
Have to give them credit for the small batch beers they produce; the single hop ipa mix pack had some real winners, the imperial pilsner , gingergread stout, and the new ipl are all very good beers. The more mass produced boston ale, scotch ale, boston lager, and black lager are also great backups when a store has a crap craft selection. Not sure we can call their beer local but they have done great things for small businesses in and out of the beer community.
Had the Dark Depths Baltic Porter on draft tonight. Nice representation of the style with a notable hop presence. IMO their recent IPL is superior to > 3 week old Jacks Abby Hoponius Union.
