Just curious if this happens often. I did an IP trade in Chicago today and me and the other guy gave each other the same extra. Has this ever happened to anyone else? The extra was NG Scream IIPA.
Haha. What a coinky-dink. Never happened to me but I feel like I would be kinda disappointed if it did.
One of my first trades. I'm from Iowa and he was from Ohio. I was just recently in Chicago and picked up some Revolution. We both sent each other an Anti-Hero as one of the extras. I thought it was pretty funny.
Yeah but, if the exact same extra is exchanged, they cancel each other out and we can all agree that one extra is better than zero extras. I guess if I was in OP's situation, I'd check the bottle date on both and, if they're different, immediately ice both of 'em down and do a side-by-side with the guy I was trading with. Don't know if NG bottle dates or not but either way it'd be a neat experiment
I once had a growler swap that was for 2 32 oz growlers. I threw 4 or 5 extras in the box along with the growlers. About 2 weeks later I got the growlers back refilled with what we had agreed on, plus all of the same extras. It seems I packed too well and he never even saw the extras hiding in the bottom of the box.
I had something similar happen to me. Received a large box and figured I had found all the extras. Left the box sitting in the corner for ~2-3 months just throwing extra packing materials in and one night went to grab some of the bubble wrap out and realized there was another bottle just laying in the bottom. It was a pleasant surprise.
Recently sent a Bomb! and received a Bomb!. Neither of us should have been able to buy them in our local distro, so no way of knowing.
I just did an IP trade with a guy and we both brought Westbrook Gose as extras. He apparently recently moved here from South Carolina and brought a ton with him to trade with, etc. It was his first trade too. We just had to laugh about it.
Recently traded with someone in MO. We both extra'd heady. From the same canning week. Pretty good laugh
