I'm still sitting on a couple bottles of the 2000. How long will these things age?

I tried this again. I paired it with some cheese (sorry I did get the name, my wife bought it, it was good and now it’s gone), but the cheese helped. So did taking it slow and being prepared. I have to say the results were much better than the first time but it confirmed my assumption that I will never like this as much as Dogfish Head World Wide Stout. It’s an interesting beer which I may try again from time to time but for me there’s a lot of other beer I would prefer before this one because the flavors that I liked (sweet malt, dark fruits, peppery spice) were not strong enough, and I can find beer I like better for less price.

I have one more in storage. I’ll see what it’s like in a few years.

As someone else stated, a 12 oz bottle is good to share with 3 friends. I really enjoy this beer, generally 3-7 yrs of age on it. Also tend to drink only over the winter holidays around the fireplace.

You should, it's a sweet boozy treat. Delicious stuff.

I love the stuff! Some of my favorite beer. I had a 2010 just a month ago for the first time and it became one of my favorite beers. But like anything on BA, it's all about taste. I like big boozy and sweet beers which this is exactly. That's why threads on cellaring are difficult to interpret because one man's drain pour is another man's nectar of the gods!

This is one of those beers you treat with a little respect. A single bottle consumed alone can be a bit much for some people, but I do recommend sharing this one.

I love this beer, and the only other two people that I'd split it with are myself and I. Sure, it's a sipper, but it's unique and fun to drink too. To each their own though.

Where the hell did you get a 2012 bottle? Most places around here carry 2008 or 2009 vintages.

Just finished (to my great sadness) the last 2006 I had. It. was. effing. magical.

Agreed. One of my all time favorites as well. Part of the beauty of craft beer I suppose:slight_smile:
