San Antonio Question- Jester King

    Hey There BA!

    My brother-in-law is visiting San Antonio later this week/weekend and he's agreed to tried to grab me some bottles of Jester King to bring back to beautiful Grand Rapids, Michigan. He's going to be pretty crunched for time so I was hoping to get a suggestion of the best bottle shop close to where he is staying (Grand Hyatt) in town. I'm admittedly not the best internet researcher out there but I'm struggling to find what's out in distro from KJ right now and was hoping someone might be able to help me out.

    There aren't any good bottle shops downtown. The closest store that might have a good JK selection is Central Market on Broadway. I would call first. If that doesn't work out, I know The Granary has a very good JK selection. They're a restaurant though, so he'll be paying above retail prices for it. Great BBQ there too.

    If your BIL happens to have a rental car, the best place in SA I've found for JK is a tiny convenience store called Northwest Food Mart. And just to keep your expectations in check: the really great, sour beers that JK are known for and which are brought to bottle shares all the time are almost all limited-release/brewery-only. That said, I still definitely like the bottles you can find in stores.

    Thanks for the quick replies everyone... I appreciate the expectations check as well @xmcmc. I definitely don't expect any fruited sours but still am excited about the possibility of getting a few tasty beers I'm not able to up here.

    Whole Foods at the Quarry Market has JK from time to time.
