Second Grand Ole Bbq. Their brisket and beef rib are spectacular when they are on (which is the majority of the time), and great when they're not. Everything there is pretty much good to great.

You can buy your food there and eat at Thorn St. Or you can bring beer and BYOB at GOByA.

OK Grand Ole BBQ will be consumed in mass quantities. Any recommendations for a good taco place (fish tacos!) along 30th?

Hey Everyone! Thanks for all the suggestions. Here is how I made out:

Night 1 - Started drinking at the hotel bar until my room was ready. Societie IPA and some others. Took an Uber to North Park. Started at Fall Brewing Co. Cool taproom with some solid beers, I liked their Berliner Weisse. Stopped at Poor House, was disappointed with their house IPA, their saison was ok. Kinda dingy in there. Barn Brewery - cool little spot, seemed to have a lot of Farmhouse ales on tap, the bartender was a cool dude. I stumbled upon The Fermenters Club homebrew store, with beers on tap. Very cool place, they were getting ready to do a Kombucha class, so I moved along. Belching Beaver, cool taproom, I recall liking the PB Stout and the Pina Colada IPA was kinda cool. Ended the night at Tiger Tiger!, and had an Alesmith Pale X before calling it an early night.

Night 2 - Started on Thorn St. with the intention of having dinner at Grande Ole. Closed on Monday. Bummer. Thorn St. Brewing Co. had some solid beers from what I remember from the taster flight. Modern Times Flavordome tasters were all very good, Rolling Boomers and the Saison with (red wine must?) were good. I got Tacos Perlas delivered to the tasting room for dinner. Mike Hess was a cool space, but the beers were disappointing all around. North Park Beer Co. was an awesome space with a lot of potential. The DIPA was pretty darn good. Kung Fu IPA was disappointing, but it's possible I mixed up the two IPA tasters. Ended at Rip Tide tasting room. I couldn't finish two of the three IPA tasters here....not a fan. I walked across the street to the Thai joint and noshed on some Pad See Lew and a Sculpin before heading back to the hotel.

Night 3 - Headed to Ocean Beach. Had some Pho and spring rolls at OB Noodle House and a MT Fortunate Islands. Checked out the pier and beach scene. Culture Brewing Co. was a cool space with hit or miss beers. Tuesday was 3 for $3 tasters so that was alright. Helm Brewing Co. was pretty mediocre. First brewery with noticeable off-flavors in most of the beers. Pizza Port was pretty busy when I got there, but thinned out after about 8:00. Their beers were solid, and I see why the get the accolades they do. Had Kung Fu Elvis pale, Swamis, and the DIPA (can't recall the name).

    Cheers y'all.
