I will be in San Diego today with the family and wanted to know if minors are allowed at ballast point and alesmith?

I believe so, they only card when you order beer. Though I don't think I have ever seen any kids there before

Call the brewery and then post the answer here. I have no idea.

I've been in Ballast Point and Alesmith with a 9 year old. Granted, we didn't hang out there. It was just to fill a growler or two. Also, there are no seats at the above mentioned breweries (none at Green Flash or Hess either). Take your kids to Pizza Port or Oggi's (Pizza Port is better). I've also been to the Neighborhood (to get Younger) and Toronado with kids (always during the very early evening, i.e. 4-5 pm).

I have brought my kids to both breweries, for growler fills, and for the Alesmith 10 year anniversery, and we didnt have any problems.

I'll be in San Diego in August with a 3.5 year old. I figure Pizza Port will be a given with the food aspect to it, but what about a hop over to Alpine. Is it kid friendly?

There is no problem with bringing kids to the Pub in Alpine except that last time I was there they did not have high chairs or boosters. Doubt that would be a problem with a 3.5 year old. Note that the place is really small and if it is full there is not really anywhere to wait, though. I have seen people take kids into the brewery to get growler fills.
