San Diego IPA Day

    Yes I know this. I can drink Margaritas all year too, but May 5 is an excuse. It's also a reason for our beer bars to tap some of the things they hold onto for special occasions.

    Stone Esco has an event going on.
    O'briens has a FW event (but not really an IPA event)
    IPA sale at Bine and Vine.

    That's all I'm aware of.

    Nope - only known tapping so far is O'Briens next Friday. I am going to light that shit up - hope it's awesome.

    Not much going on in SF that I can tell, either. Rosamunde is going to have 8 IPAs on tap, but none of them are unusual:

    • Ballast Point, Scuplin IPA
    • Dogfish Head, 90 minute, double IPA
    • Deschutes, Chainbreaker, White IPA
    • Russian River, Blind Pig IPA
    • Ninkasi, Maiden in Shade, American IPA
    • Ninkasi, Tricerhop, Double IPA
    • Racer 5, IPA
    • Houblon Chouffe, Belgian IPA
    • Ale Industries, East Bay IPA

    Bine and Vine has 30% off a bunch of IPAs right now. Just went in there and bought a Nelson, some Mongo, couple Double Jacks for $20. Nothing shocking, but nice to get the bargains.

    Might go to that O'Briens event.

    Maybe for the rest of the country they need a day to celebrate the hop, but here in SD it's what we do.

    California Kebab in PB is doing an IPA Day thing, 17 IPA's for $5/ea.

    Called .... they know nothing. Said they "got three bottles which they drank quickly and boy was it good". No info on where to find.

    La Mesa, there were like 23 when I ordered. Checking again now - looks like cleaned out. This should be a massive release though since NB did it.

    All inventory at BevMo is what they had at 12:00AM that morning. So it's usually completely fucking wrong.
