Question for you San diego folks. My wife and I will be there from a Wednesday afternoon to Friday morning. We are staying in the Gaslamp district. The only thing we have so far is a 1pm reservation at Stone World Bistro on Thursday. Suggestions for dinner/beer Weds night and Thursday night would be great. We would love for one of those dinners to be sushi. A place with a combo of great food and beer selection for the other would be excellent. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
For sushi I would say Sushi Deli 2 or RA. I don't know of any sushi places that have decent craft selections but I know RA has Stone IPA. The nice part about sushi downtown is there are plenty of places to grab a good beer before/after. Not sushi but I really like OB Noodlehouse for their food/beer.
Sushi Ota is amazing but keep in mind it's also (IMO) one of the priciest. It's also a 15 minute drive from downtown (but worst it - very good sushi). Read some Yelp reviews on it. Sushi Deli 2 is very cheap and decent, but the line for this place gets long. Only Sapporo and basic Ballast Point there.
