I'm planning a series of trips down to SD over the next few months for work and would love suggestions of which places would be most worth visiting for dinner/drink. Prefer a place I can eat at, I don't really need a brewery tour etc.
Stone is always a great option. Escondido is best. Ballast point as well. My personal favorite is Little Italy. If you just want great beer and don't need a brewery Blind Lady Ale House is great as well as Toronado. If your more northern San Diego Urge Gastropub always has a great tap list. Their food is at best average though.
Or you could just make a recommendation. Remember. The name of this site is Beer Advocate.com. Not tired of answering the same question so I will instead give you a spreadsheet.com
He did make a recommendation ... He wrote and maintains that thread ... Not exactly sure what's the problem
Alesmith, Pizza Port, Ballast Point, Stone, Mother Earth, Rip Current, Lost Abbey, and Alpine are all worth a visit. I recommend checking out that thread above because it is an awesome resource and can help you plan. Really its hard to go wrong in San Diego.
And the OP could've taken five minutes to do a bit of research and come up with more specific questions. Most of us have demonstrated that we're happy to help anyone who has shown they've done even some brief research, and considering the effort @SageO has put into the maintaining the CA growler spreadsheet and answering questions for people, I wouldn't criticize him for pointing someone that asked a basic question towards a basic resource. Sage maintains the "Visiting SD" thread on another site, the one here on BA is mine. Either way, it should give the OP a lot of info to consider and if he has more specific questions, I'm sure there are a number of us who would be happy to assist.
Don't be a jerk. Xul put a lot of time in putting that information together, and puts a lot of time into keeping it updated. A few others help proofread it for him, add their options, etc. It is the most efficient way to get all that information across. Once the person reads through it, he/she can ask more detailed question, and people would be more than happy to answer them. I've found that majority of people that get the link in response to their general questions are generally appreciative of it.
LOL, my bad ... yeah I frequent BOTH sites (can I say that here ) so thus my confusion. Thanks Xul for the kick ass information ... I use both frequently.
