San Diego Train ride.

    Unless things have changed, Metrolink only goes as far South as Oceanside. The Coaster is what you want from there if you intend to get off at certain stations which Amtrak doesn't service such as Carlsbad. Amtrak is more expensive, only stops at some stations, but is sometimes the only choice. Their app is quite good. As mentioned, the weekend schedules for all these lines are different from the weekday, so it's really best to dial everything in in advance to avoid getting stranded.

    The drinking part was my second favorite part. I would usually take it on fridays after work down from the oc to visit buddies and it was better then dealing with that 5 south traffic. And the beer or three would help relax me even more !!

    Weekend day pass for $10? Is that one price for the whole day/round trip?

    Whole day, all metrolink trains, metro rail in LA, and I think buses, too.
