Went to the grilled cheese place Sunday, as there was a sign in teh window of 21A that said they were closed for a private function, which it didn't look like. In any case the sammy was good, but not worth the $10.00 I paid for it

So I'm headed out there Jan. 29th-Feb. 1st. I had planned on renting a car and heading up to Russian River, but some people told me not to bother; anything I can get there I can probably get in the city (to buy and take/ship home to Chicago).

    Wondering people's thoughts on this.

Go to the source so you don't have to hunt bottles down and can drink them from the source (along with the beers they don't bottle)

You can buy a case of Pliny (or whatever the current limit it as the brewery) in the City??? News to me ... plus it's a good idea to go to RRB just for the experience ... order their tasting flight - it's whatever they have on tap (something like 15 to 20 beers - 2 ounce pours) for a ridiculously low price!

Thanks guys -- not that I needed encouragement to go to RRB for the first time, but much appreciated. Santa Rosa it is!

Typically you can't just stroll up to Anchor and expect to get in ... you will need to sign up (and pay) for their tour well in advance ... I would visit their website and see if there are any tour openings the day you want to go ... there also could be some last minute cancellations so you could get in via the "stand by" method ... although this sounds like a pain in the ass, the Anchor tour is well worth the effort!

Thanks bro! Anchor Liberty was my first great beer some 25+ years ago so I can't wait to visit. I own a small beer store in Charlotte NC called BRAWLEY'S BEVERAGE. Check us out on BA. Would love to share a beer with some of ya'll but not sure of my timetable just yet.
