Hello, In 2 weeks or so I've got a layover at San Jose airport. I get there about 11:15 pm on a Tuesday and don't leave again until 6am. Are there any beer bars or breweries near the airport where I can go and have a few beers, say from Midnight to 2am? Basically looking for something I can walk to or take a $10 (one way) cab ride to. Worst case scenario I'd even be content to find a good carry out and drink good local beer on the curb for a cpl hours. But preferably I'd like to find a brewery where I can kick back. Anything nearby? Are they open till 2am? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much
Not sure if you'll find anything open that late in the nearby area. However, Casino Matrix is down the street from the airport. Given your short timeframe, that may be your best bet...get it?
You'll be pretty close to downtown SJ and the San Pedro Square area (definitely less than 10 minutes one way). While I believe my favorites (Original Gravity, Good Karma, and ISO: Beers) are closed at that time, O'Flaherty's in San Pedro Square is a great pub with a solid beer selection. And if that's not to your liking, there are a bunch more bars all within a 100 ft radius from O'Flaherty's. Link: O'Flaherty's
How does one manage to fly an itinerary requiring a layover at SJC?! I live in San Jose and don't understand... anyway, OFlats is probably the only choice for being open that late on a Tuesday especially if you want a decent beer. They have ~52 taps so you'll find something you like.
Not a bar, but Bobby's Liquors just up the street in Santa Clara is open until 1 and has a great selection of domestic and imported craft beers.
