Haven't been over to Northport in a while but swung by on Sunday to get a split case of Oops I Mango'd and Fade to Jade. Also snagged a growler of Up the Beach, I rarely get growler fills these days but you really can't beat their $15 growlers.

Up the Beach was fantastic, definitely wish I was able to score some cans of it.

Fade is good but it's not what I remember. Then again I had it in the very early days of Sand City so it might be a palate thing as I'm now used to haze bomb zero crystal malt galaxy IPAs.

Oops Mango is just a downright mess. Way too astringent, zero hop nuance, pretty mad I bought half a case of it.

It’s funny you mention the Oops Mango. I’ve seen multiple posts on their IG page saying the cans are pretty subpar, a few even going as far as saying they’re drain pours.

The last batch of Oops Mango (in August) was one of my favorite beers they’ve ever made, so I’m pretty surprised to hear all this and I’d like to see them address this issue. I had a can at 2 months old that tasted amazing still, it was the perfect Summer beer.

Ouch, that hurts, a 1/2 case of something not good.

Glad I read this before I went up there during my lunch break. I think the last batch I had in October (not sure?) was pretty astringent too and nothing like the original batch.

Oops! I Mango'ed hasn't been good for quite some time now.

I'm cool on a lot of Sand City stuff these days. Outside of Soylent Green and International Playboy their regular offerings haven't really been doing it for me.

Will purchase the new III variant coming out, though.

Again, not exactly a "regular" offering.

No disagreement that it was a great collab though.

I agree with oops I mangoed. Very astringent, not balanced, was not a fan. However, I’d put their top IPAs (Anniversary series - ONE in particular, Soylent Green, Infinity series) up against ANY of the best Haze coming out of the tristate area. I may be biased as a local SC fanboy but after a recent OH visit I stand by this statement (no disrespect to OH, they’re obviously amazing as well).

Totally agree, throughout their whole line-up they don't stack up with the very best, but their best beers do. Hopefully Soylent Green comes out again soon, that beer was awesome.

Run, don’t walk to Sand City to get A Diamond in the Rough, fantastic beer.

Holy hell George’s Red Hat is an awesome beer! Definitey going back to grab more on Friday.

It reminds me of a less hoppy Nugget Nectar.

Tried Double Infinity Daydream at the taproom. Verdict: meh. Hopes were muted. Pretty much how every other lactose IPA tastes to me.

Also tried I Don’t Know, Margo for the simple fact that it is one of my favorite lines from Christmas Vacation. That was a very tasty beer. Would love to see it in cans.

They had cans of that but they sold out within a day or two. Very good DIPA. I only got a 4-pack, and I’m out so I’m sorry. I actually haven’t been there since that triple release.
I agree, loved George’s Hat. I have one left of that. Easy drinker for 9%.

There is no shortage of brilliant lines in that movie.

Stiff competition tomorrow with the Root+Branch/Hudson Valley collab release. I think more of the linelyfe folks will be there as opposed to this one. Can't see this causing a scene past an initial line that starts to wrap around Woodbine at opening.

Hopefully can roll in there around 11 or so and scoop up some cans with no line.
