Nor sure if this was noted previously, but they opened yesterday. Just came from there, and loving that this new joint is a minute drive from my house. https://patch.com/new-york/lindenhurst/sand-city-south-lindenhurst-brewery-opens-weekend
I guess this is what happens when I stop drinking Sand City, no one posts. Took a shot at One, it’s good, I had written them off but can they do this on a consistent basis or are they just making beer for people hanging out for a Saturday afternoon in new brewery? @guinness77
It’s hard to answer this question. I haven’t been there too many times but I find the beers I’ve drank on tap have been much better than any cans I’ve brought home. Looking at my Soylent Green pic in the other thread, the beer is clearly oxidized and tasted as so. The other cans I had were a little better but not like the Soylent I know (and loved). The one thing I’ll say is the Lindy crowd seems to treat the place as more of a neighborhood hangout than a brewery. Knowing the people I know who work there, I’ve heard many stories to back that opinion up and, when I’ve been there (and maybe I’m guilty of judging a little), I’ve noticed the crowd to be more of a “bar” crowd. I haven’t been to Northport in ages because I live much closer to Lindy.
I stopped by a few weeks ago and grabbed some beer. I really enjoyed James Street. Just a real good, all around ale. Would drink that on the reg if they produced it. As for SC falling off - I did go through a year and a half period where all the beers just tasted mundane to me. Nothing stood out. There was no “pop”. I’ve been to the Lindy location 3 times and everything seems to be back up to par.
