I'll start off by saying thanks again and again to all of you. I will keep this to the point. I appreciate everyone's box donations but right now we have 49 total donations to charities, I hope to get to 100. Due to the unexpected large donations of beers, I have decided to cap the thank you boxes at 13-15. After discussing this approach with many other BA's and donors of boxes, I will have the "grand thank you box" and assign numbers to each other box in the order I received them. The first name I draw gets the "grand thank you box", 2nd name I draw gets the 2nd box, 3rd name get the 3rd box and so on. This is about as random yet as simple as I can make it although it sure doesn't feel that way :)

Each and every box is different and unique. Remember these are other BA's thanking you for your donation which is about as generous as it gets. Here is a rough draft of the boxes. I again apologize for not having more details but I will be busy this weekend and wanted to post something to keep everyone up to date. *BA's not mentioned by name wished to remain anonymous

Grand Thank You box- GI KH, CCB Imp Sweet Stout, Beatification B5, GI Cherry Rye Stout, 2 BBPT5th, 2 BCBS, BA DARK LORD DE MUERTE '12 (thanks to GrumpyOldTroll for the DL)

2nd box - TX beers, HF Twilight of the Idols, HF Arthur
3rd box- will get more details or maybe keep it a surprise
    4th box- CA beers
5th box- CT beers from ILOVESTOUTS
6th box- MN beers from Penguin3200
    7th box- from Davey101
    8th box- FFF/GI beers
9th box- HF Birth of a Tragedy and Twilight of the Idols from Dave Hack
10th box- 4 pack of GI BCBS
11th box- from Cuzco; see thread
12th box- Lindley Park, Event Horizon, Olde Rabbits Foot, Silent Night from benjaminahudso
13th box- Black Tuesday '11, '12, White Chocolate and Chocolate Rain B2 from Vitese
    14th- ???
    15th- ???

    Seriously...speechless. *Will update when/if appropriate.

It really "irks" me that this occurred. I don't want to bother the bros with putting in the new link and taking out the old one so now anytime someone clicks on that link to donate without reading through the entire thread (not that I blame them) guess who's getting BM?

Like I said, I know they were working on a new site but I figured they could have had that link re-direct you to the new site. Oh well.

Donation made and BM sent. My office is right next to an elementary school and all week I've been watching the kids run by going to and from school, trying to make sense of it all and wondering how I could help. The donation is a small gesture, but hopefully it does some good in the lives of those families in that town. Thanks for pulling this together.

Donated and emailed the confirmation. I thought I was done shedding tears over all this until Anderson Cooper did a montage of all the victims the other night while "Amazing Grace" played in the background. Boys do cry.

All the generosity on this thread is what makes BA the incredible community that it is.

Lol, you people are insane. Please, no more boxes for now. I have plenty to work with for now and and I think 15 boxes is alot. If we get over 100 total donations to charities, I'll keep this in mind offer in mind. We're at about 53-54 now. Just 5 a day and we'll be there, easily. I really do appreciate it though.

This just proves that there are plenty of good people who want to help, sometimes they just need someone to point them in a direction.
Thanks for doing this, and giving me a direction.

Quick Update...sadly, the donations have dropped a lot today. A total of 5. I know BA slows down on the weekends, it's during the holidays and alot of people are traveling but be sure to pass the word on to your other BA friends. Sometime in about a week, I may (big may) try to start a new thread with my initial post, the working Noah's Ark link and the box layout so everything is on the first page.

I'm thinking if the boxes are listed front and center it may help. After all, that's why all of you donated them. Right now, people have to read through 3 pages to see it. Just a thought. I'd like to do whatever I can to make this as successful as possible. Thanks to all of you!

Brad - FWIW, I think after the holidays a re-post with all the info in intro certainly wouldn't hurt. Plus may end up being easier on YOU to keep track of everything in the long run.

    Happy Holidays!

This sounds like a good plan, though you shouldn't be too crushed by the slowdown, either. It's just the nature of the beast for a LIF like this to be fairly front-loaded, kind of like a blockbuster movie's opening numbers versus its 3rd week in theaters. I'd say if you're getting 5-10 donations a day still, you're doing pretty damn well.

I know, I know...yesterday was a positive beat down :). We have already exceeded my expectations and my new goal is 100 total donations. If you guys didn't spoil me so quickly I wouldn't have had to raise my expectations ;). In all seriousness, I'm more then proud of everyone's display of generosity.

Beer Karma is real! Tonight I won a Freetail "gift basket" consisting of La Muerta '09, '10,'11,'12 and a Three after donating money to a raffle for freetail bat conservation. I rarely win anything, I'm so happy right now :)

There were actually 3 different "sets" given as rewards for donating. For every $10 donated you got one ticket. I had bought 2 tickets when I arrived and 2 more tickets when they did a 4 minute last call. I ended up winning with the last two tickets I bought in the final 4 minutes. Granted, there were very few people that donated but I'm happy. I hope the bats flourish and wipe out mesquitos and West Nile. Go bats!

Donation and BM sent. I really appreciate what you are doing here. A lot of people turn a blind eye to these types of tragedies when they are not directly impacted. These families need all the support they can get right now, whether it be financial or emotional. Although no amount of money can completely restore a sense of normalcy to the people affected by the Sandy Hook tragedy, I hope they can find solace in the fact that our hearts are with them during these troubled times.

    Keep the donations coming!
