Sanitize?

I try not to think of what beer will become if new brewers learn to to brew by watching tv, lol. I once upon a time thought I could learn to cook from tv but soon realized that was also B.S..

 

yes, and I used to think he really knew his stuff! after seeing that, I am a bit skeptical. I dont remember much from the episode as I saw it long before I started homebrewing, but it particularly stood out that he was wrong about what dry hopping is

 

Not sure why one WOULDN'T want to sanitize. Not like it takes a long time, and why not be better safe than sorry?

 

Sanitize everything.

Someday I'll have an entirely stainless steel, enclosed kitchen with a floor drain just so I can spray the entire place down with Starsan from a fire hose before and after I brew.

 

One only has to sanitize the cold side. The boil will sanitize the wort on the hot side.
I hope everyone is clear on cleaning, cleaning, and being clean before they sanitize.

 

I think any thread that concerns that show "brew dogs" should say "brew dogs" in the title, so that I know not to waste my time reading it.

 

This. If you want to see what professionals do, take a tour at, say, Sierra Nevada. You won't see anybody funneling yeast with their hands.
