I'm going to be in Santa Ana for work this upcoming week (December 15-17) and wanted to hit some taprooms. Any suggestions for which brewpubs/breweries might be the best/convenient. I know LA traffic can upset the best planned days.. Also would be willing to do an IP trade. BA Darkness for Parabajava, maybe. Cheers
Downtown Santa Ana or DTSA as the cool kids call it has The Good Beer Co. and Native Son Alehouse both of which are worth a visit. Probably one or two other spots in DTSA that I'm forgetting to mention. Plenty of other places within 5-10 miles including Noble, Bruery, Bottle Logic and Mr. K's.
Definitely hit Good Beer Co. Try Wursthaus if you are looking for some good food and a respectable tap list (also Playground DTSA). And as always The Bruery (sours, Belgian, stouts, and other awesomeness), Noble Ale Works (lots of hops and other fun stuff), and Bottle Logic.
Though they don't post their taplist, Playground has awesome stuff - one of the few places you can get Beachwood or HPB aside from the brewery. I'd check activity on untappd to see what might be pouring. Food is pricey and always easier with a reservation but I've come in for a few brews and small plates before. Without a res I'd just put my name down and wait it out at Native Son
Just outside of Santa Ana is the Iron Press. They have some good food and and a solid tap list. I was just there last week and they had a bunch of the new FiftyFifty Eclipse bottles if that peaks your interest. Hollingshead is also a great bottle shop/taproom worth checking out. Both are on Taphunter
