I'm going to SB and I'm wondering what are the best spots bars, bottle shops, and restaurants for beer? I will be going to Barrelworks too so if there is anything around there to stop by. I'm up for a IP trade I can trade Arizona Wildress, Bells(black note), Odell's, founders, left hand and anything else you guys don't get.
If you perform a search of the forums for Santa Barbara there have been posts about this before. Check out San roque liquor on upper state st, hollister brewing co, telegraph brewing, Figueroa mountain in buelton not far from barrelworks. Also the whole foods there gets decent bottles. That's about it. Not a real plethora of choices.
Barrelworks is a must. Hollister is the best option as a brewpub. Beyond that, the post above is right on. Note that Fig Mountain also has a downtown SB location now, and Telegraph is very interesting, though does not cater to hopheads. You won't find bottles here that you can't find in SF/LA. Avoid the SB Brewing Company downtown. The Brewhouse (also downtown) is inconsistent, but worth a stop if you're here for several days.
If staying downtown, take or rent a bike . You can hit telegraph, pure order, fig mountain, brew house , and state street all in a short and fun bike ride. SB is a bike friendly community. Union Ale house has a decent draft selection.
Thanks guys!!! I'm still looking for in IP trade in the area I have 120, KBS, Black note, Odells, and more to trade.
