I just moved to SantaCruz this week and have been trying to get a feel for the local bottle shops. After checking seekabrew.com I am on a hunt to try beers from Pizza Port, Almanac, Prairie, HoTD, and Deschutes. If anyone has any recommendations where I should look or local breweries I overlooked that information would be much appreciated. PS: My only means of transportation is the bus system.
welcome I think most everything is covered in this thread: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/santa-cruz-bottle-shops.102035/ and here too http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/botteshop-rec-b-w-santa-cruz-and-san-jose.111626/
AJ's is the best spot in town and close to a bus route on soquel ave. Whole Foods Santa Cruz is also a good option closer to downtown. Pizza Port is only available at the Brewpubs in San Diego/OC so you're out of luck there, but the others should be available at those stores.
Assuming he means Port Brewing, then you can find their beers at most all of the local shops, just keep a watch out for old bottles, I see a lot of very old Port Brewing bottles on almost everybody's shelves, fine for Viscosity, not so fine for their IPA...
A bike is on the top of my list after I get my first pay check. How is SARA's tasting room? I see they don't have any bottles for sale.
Never mind, SARA looks awesome. Thanks for the help everyone! I'll be stopping in there and AJ's this weekend.
SARA is awesome. SARA fills up all 1L and 2L growlers. Blue painters tape on the logo and you are good to go.
