So I heard news of this coming to SLC last month. It was expected to be received the middle of November. But I still do not see any in the State stores BUT they are now at bars. How does this work in Utah?? Do 'special' beers ONLY hit the bars but not the stores? I tried locating Sante Fe on the Department of Beverage Alcohol Control website and came across it as "special order" and "not sold to general public." Is this the government holding onto the beer? Same goes for others beers such as Green Flash - "Not sold to general public." What does this exactly mean?? Will they ever hit stores? Boy I cannot wait to be back in Wisconsin for Christmas vacation! Sorry for the little rant here but can't help but wonder.
This is some funny shit. Special Order means at least that you have to buy a certain amount, it can mean other things, but like I said, at least this. No, the govt is not holding the beers, but I could be wrong, lol Utah is getting some new beers here and then. Not all SLS are the same you have to remember this. Cheers!
The bars will receive the initial orders so that the state can gauge the demand for the particular labels. Once they see what sells the best, they will then buy them for the liquor stores. Remember, this is not the free market we're dealing with here, it's a government monopoly.
