Hey guys, Going to be in Santa Fe in a couple weeks, any places I should hit as far as tap rooms or bottle shop? Thanks for them help
This has some good info: http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...-for-visiting-new-mexico.219169/#post-3443871 But in a nutshell: Overlooking the plaza is Draft Station which will have a good representation of New Mexico beer. Second Street's Railyard location is convenient from downtown, has good food, and the beers are always good. Duel is on the South Side and their prices have gotten out of control, consistency is not always there, but they do mkae the occasional great beer (Goya is a must if on tap). If you're already on the South Side, Blue Corn has decent food and beer (occasionally a great beer). If you're already at Blue Corn, not more than 10 minutes of driving will get you to Santa Fe Brewing. You could bike from the plaza to Santa Fe Brewing and hit Second Street's original location in between too. Many options. Cheap New Mexican food: El Parasol on Cerrillos. Sit-down New Mexican: Maria's or The Pantry. So many good restaurants in Santa Fe I wouldn't know where to begin listing the rest. Dr. Field Goods and Fire and Hops are two newer beer-centric restaurants too. Look em up.
Violet Crown Cinema is at the railyard too. They had a pretty impressive taplist when I was in town and you need not see a movie to enjoy the brews. Nice big patio open to the railyard. Right across from 2nd Street Brewery. I grabbed the requisite Elevated IPA at Whole Foods along with some Project Dank.
Pretty much is an untalked about place in Austin due to it being a movie theater - but they always have a great selection here too.
True. The Austin location always has some treats on tap. The Santa Fe location is way more impressive though. Huge tap list - must be 40+ taps and a massive lobby with a large patio. I have never really enjoyed the Austin location's feel enough to make me go there just to have a drink without seeing a movie. Too cramped. But, I do enjoy going there for movies.
Oh, I agree. I just tend to go to movies there a lot so I enjoy their limited taps of pure quality stuff. Did not know that was a 40+ tap list in SF. And now they are building a 3rd location in a small town in Virginia - seems like an odd choice.
I like Blue Corn. Great food, hopefully the service is better than last time I was there. Roadrunner IPA good. The big stouts are good.
Susan's is the best spot for bottles. Kokoman just outside of town always has a crazy selection too and is worth a visit. Santa fe brewing co. , second street, and marble are solid fixtures. La cumbre is available in sf. Their apricot saison rocks.
Yes, that La Cumbre Apricot saison was fantastic. Is it still on shelves around town? I stumbled upon a bottle at Tesuque Market when I was there in August. Hefty mark-up at that place but I grabbed one anyway.
^ I dunno. My brother sent me some a few weeks ago. I think he got it at susan's. I live in Austin now so im a little out of the loop.
Still available around ABQ. Not so sure about Santa Fe. Susan's, Whole Foods or Trader Joe's would be worth checking for that.
