Lol, I was just at Alvarado St on Thursday and they still have some SARA Farmhouse Noir there. Sometimes they have 831 if you're lucky.

Did it get worse? I lived a block from Staff when I was in college and the only time it got bad was ~5 pm on weekdays.

When was that? I went to UCSC 2004-08, traffic was always terrible. It's definitely gotten worse since then too

The new Belgian Quad on tap ... Capitola Breezes ... is DAMN TASTY! Very smooth for almost 10% ABV ... Nice barnyard funk coupled with sweet juicy fruit - excellent balance. Get on it!

I'm pretty new to beers from SARA and am interested in giving these a try - potentially will see if I can trade for some and / or pick up some up directly. I have a few questions - apologize in advance if any of these are too basic.

    - With their fruited beers, I wanted to see how these hold up over time. I imagine the fruit starts to fade at some point. Are these generally good for up to a year or so? I've heard that even after the fruit fades, these beers are still quite enjoyable - anyone have experience with this? I'm particularly interested in Appreciation and West Ashley - would be great to hear any experience people have had with these beers with some age on them.

    - Regarding Appreciation, has this already been released this year? Based on historical patterns, any sense if there may be another release at some point? I know that West Ashley was just released, so probably will have to trade for it.

    - In relation to their non-fruited beers (Bernice, etc.), I'm assuming that most of these hold up quite well and may in fact evolve into something more interesting over time - is this right?

    Thanks in advance!

Jammy fresh, but funky with age. Depends on the beer and my mood for specific notes, but both aged and fresh are excellent.

Yes. I'm not knowledgeable to comment on their patterns though, as they have greatly increased their bottle release quantity and rate.

IMHO Bernice is one of the best saisons ever and age definitely showcases this opinion.

Nonna's 11 and the SARA/SideProject/JackieO's/TiredHands collab were damn delicious.

I wish I could have had them all, but I only had 45minutes before FoD VIP started.

I'm not sure if it is an apt comparison, but I wanted to see how people would compare Cask 200 and Bernice. I've never had Cask before and am debating how many bottles to pick up if they still have some this week. Have had Bernice and really liked it. Did they still have Cask to go when they closed on Sunday?

Separate but related question - did WA on tap kick yesterday? Just wondering if this could still be on this week.

They tend to keep their FB up to date with what is available and will update it when they open if there was something that kicked.

Thanks - yeah, I follow their social media. I may go on a weekday this week (most likely tomorrow) and given that it's a 1 - 1.5 hr drive to get there, ideally would like to leave before opening to both avoid some of the traffic and also have a bit more time there. The way it sounded yesterday, it seemed like bottles should still be available (Lady in Grey definitely, not as sure about Cask, hence the question about the status at close). WA would just be a bonus

Go and at least try it. What else do you have to lose?

Enjoy the day at the beach. Eat some bomb BBQ with plenty of great beers on tap.

Cask 200 is delicious. It's not quite as delicate as Bernice, with a little more acid upfront. I think it's one of their more underrated regular releases.

Not much - only some time and perhaps one's sanity on CA 17

    Thanks!

I left Orange County @1. Caught shitty LA traffic and still made it there by 715. They were selling bottles inside already. They will still have some for tomorrow.
