My wife is headed out that way for business next week and I was hoping to get the CA crowd's input on whether or not there's beer she can mule back for me. I assume their bottles are not generally available but wasn't sure what the deal was with growlers. Any input is appreciated. (I tried checking their website but it looks like it's down). Cheers!
They don't sell growlers, but will fill yours with 831 IPA -- usually. The growler fills have been intermittent lately. On Sunday, but none today. Their facebook page is what you want to be watching: https://www.facebook.com/santeadairius
If you're lucky you'd be able to get one maybe even two bottles to go. They also sell bottles for on-site consumption.
They have 1 bottle limits. Check their page on Facebook as it's updated daily regarding what's available. Don't even worry about growlers - they only do 831 and you can do better elsewhere.
831 is certainly not bad, but there are so many good (D)IPAs pretty much everywhere, that I would definitely say it's not worth hassling your wife with traveling with a growler of.
chcfan hit it. It's good, but not worth going through the hassle of a growler IMO. Now if they did growler fills of Unit 101, this would be a different story.
