Stumbled into this today. Very solid beer!

Went on Friday for the release! Was surprised there wasn't a longer line out there and also glad there wasn't!! In my opinion the brew was excellent!

Are there still cases available? On tap?

    It's actually called Sapping Mammoth.

Quite a bit left as of this afternoon ($7/bottle), and also on tap in the tasting room. Very good beer. Almost like a cross between Lunch and Another One.

I do agree on the taste!! A combo of lunch and another one but leaning more towards lunch! What's the chances of grabbing a case this Friday.. Since I'm gonna be in maine that day?

    Hmmmm...

I might have to swing by the brewery tomorrow. I assumed it would be gone the day it was released.

I was there at 2pm today still a full fridge and numerous bottles on bar top. It was weird the place was packed but no one was concerned with the "limited release". Had my flight and witness 3 customers asking who Half Acre was. And walked out the door without buying a bottle.

Funny...I was there for the release yesterday and have been supporting MBC for many years, but I don't think this beer tastes anything like Lunch or Another One. It's vaguely reminiscent of an MBC IPA, but I had one on tap yesterday at the brewery, then had one when I got home yesterday, then had one today, and all three have been lethargic and totally one dimensional. The tasting comps yesterday were Stoneface IPA and Hopulization, and Sipping Mammoth landed at the bottom. The tasting comps today have been really top notch beers (Trillium Galaxy Dry Hopped FPPA, Tree House Julius, Hill Double Galaxy, and Tree House Haze), but SM doesn't even belong in the same room. My wife has had a few SMs as well, and agrees that it's average fare at best. We love MBC and really like Half Acre beers too, but the best thing about this beer, by far, is the psychedelic label that Half Acre designed for it.

Collabs rarely impress which sucks, but this one is solid. Nothing mind blowing but a good IPA. I guess I am enjoying more just because I made a trip to Freeport without the intention of getting the beer. Just visiting family and checked the website while shopping at outlets.

Great Plain Jane was a disappointment but then again most session beers are.

Also Lil One was tasting very good. They call it a strong ale but reminds me of a hoppy barleywine. Very reminiscent of Bigfoot. Easily best beer I tasted on tap yesterday.

@Mojua How would you rank the GFPPA, Julius and Stoneface beers (in order)? A very generous friend gave me a 750 of Julius and I thought it was fantastic. That said, I love galaxy hops so GFPPA blows me away and would be above it. The SFB IPA is just a really solid, well balanced brew that I'd gladly drink everyday, but falls slightly below the other two. Luckily my family lives in the same town as Stoneface so I have 2 cases of the galaxy IIPA waiting for me, although I've yet to try it.

Wow...ok, so I posted about this on Facebook last night. I drank (with my wife) a Trillium Galaxy Dry Hopped Fort Point, then Julius, then Hill Farmstead Double Galaxy, then Tree House Haze. All were absolutely incredible. My wife thought the GDHFP was the best of the night, I thought the Julius was the best, but it was literally splitting hairs. Haze, although amazing in its own right, was the lowest ranked of the four. Stoneface IPA is good, but not on the same level. Hopulization is substantially better than the IPA, but still not on the same level as the ones I drank last night. Awesome beer, but not epic. In my opinion, it's better than Gandhi Bot, or Be Hoppy, or the Bissell Brothers beers. I think it's also better than Double Dose. Hell, it might be better than Foley Fair Maiden, but it's not as good as the truly world class stuff like Trillium or Tree House (or 'real' Lawson's or Hill hoppy beers). I'm drinking a Heady right now, and agree with the above; that Hopulization and Heady are similar...
